Transportation and Construction – Due to the Stimulus bill and the Transportation Tax bill, MNDOT currently has many projects that they will need workers for. These workers are NOT MNDOT employees, they are from private contractors. This link will help you find what companies have won the contract for specific sites throughout the state.

Section 3 is a provision of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Act of 1968 that helps foster local economic development and individual self sufficiency.

City of St. Paul
The City of Saint Paul’s Planning and Economic Development’s website will give you a list of the economic development projects going on in their city. They also have a great list of links for many government economic development entities throughout Twin Cities.
Ongoing Multi-Year Projects
Residential Street Vitality Program – The Residential Street Vitality Program (RSVP) is a City-wide
reconstruction program of residential streets. The program began in 1996 and is anticipated to take place over approximately 25 years. See individual RSVP projects listed below by project year.
Lafayette Bridge – The aging Lafayette Bridge presents an opportunity to re-think the Mississippi River’s gateway to the Capital City and the under-utilized Lafayette Bridge corridor – specifically, how it connects to surrounding neighborhoods and supports alternative modes of transportation, including bikes and pedestrians. Construction to replace the bridge will begin in 2011, with completion scheduled for 2014. Two design concepts, in concrete and steel, have been developed with considerable input from a Citizens Advisory Committee.
