A key element of PPL’s strategic direction and the Kresge initiative is the creation of internal capacity to pursue these strategies. That means having dedicated staff who can work across the organization, internally, as well as represent the organization externally in driving this exciting body of work. This position will operate at a high level in the organization, working closely with the CEO, the Executive Leadership Team, and many different leaders across the organization.
The Director of Equity and Engagement will seek to build on our strength to engage, convene and partner with residents, neighborhood organizations, businesses, and institutions to address community needs and influence policy in more comprehensive ways. Internally, the Director will assume day-to-day responsibility for coordinating our racial equity work, in collaboration with our two internal staff Co-Champions and our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
The Director will also coordinate our Neighborhood Partnerships work, in collaboration with our two internal Neighborhood Partnerships Co-Champions and the three pilot neighborhood teams, and will work with the PPL Public Policy Committee to pursue policy initiatives throughout the community.
Externally, the Director will work alongside PPL’s CEO and other Executive leadership to articulate and advocate for PPL’s work, both directly and in collaboration with key community partners. This individual reports directly to the Vice President of Operations/CFO and will be a part of PPL’s leadership team – a group of the top 20 leaders in the organization.
